What I actually do

I’m a data engineering student in the Huntsman School of Business at Utah State, graduating in 2027.

At Pattern this summer I worked across Airflow, Snowflake, Trino, and Spark; at USU I lead a team of four analysts with SQL, Python, and Power BI at the Analytics Solutions Center. I work 20–30 hours a week and hold a 3.8 GPA.

Outside of that: a home lab running Docker and local AI models, professional working proficiency in Chinese and Japanese, and a year in Kansai, Japan that still shapes how I work with people.

Built an Airflow DAG auditing ~39,000+ Snowflake and Iceberg/S3 tables to surface zero-use and high-use tables, with Slack alerting on risky access patterns.
Developed an hourly pipeline and materialized table that make high-volume transactional data queryable from BI, handling slowly-changing-dimension deduplication and multi-currency normalization.
Contributed to a change-data-capture ingestion pipeline landing data in object storage, working across Spark, Trino, and containerized Airflow for local development.
